“Managing wealth with patience, prudence, and a steadfast focus on what endures.”

Global Macro & Systematic Funds

A diversified company holds a wide variety of assets across different, unrelated industries to spread risk. By mixing different asset classes—such as growth-focused equities, defensive bonds, physical real estate, and cash equivalents—the company safeguards against severe losses if one specific market or sector underperforms.

Key Types of Diversified Company AssetsSpreading resources across varied segments helps conglomerates and holding firms balance their financial exposure:

  • Real Estate: Commercial properties, residential portfolios, or real estate investment trusts (REITs).
  • Equities & Securities: A mix of large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap stocks, often spanning technology, energy, healthcare, and finance.
  • Fixed Income: Lower-risk government and corporate bonds that provide steady interest and capital protection during stock market downturns.
  • Commodities & Alternatives: Investments in infrastructure, precious metals, or private equity.
  • Cash & Cash Equivalents: Highly liquid accounts, certificates of deposit, and treasury bills to ensure immediate liquidity.

The Benefits of Asset DiversificationOperating and investing across a wide asset base provides several key advantages:

  • Risk Mitigation: Isolates the company from the failure of a single asset, industry, or geographic region.
  • Smoother Cash Flow: Different assets tend to perform well at varying points in the economic cycle, yielding consistent, reliable returns overall.
  • Resilience: Defensive assets act as a buffer during market volatility, protecting the company's core capital.

MCH Strategic Portfolio

Macro trend assets are investments driven by large-scale, long-term shifts in the global economy, technology, or society, rather than short-term company earnings. Key areas capitalizing on these major economic shifts include energy transition commodities (like critical metals), technology advancements (like Al capex), and global carbon allowance markets.

Energy Transition & Decarbonization: Technological Innovation:  are a few areas in which Moore Capital Holdings is invested. With a large concentration in the private health sector.

Since the founding of MCH we have 158 wholly owned companies under our portfolio umbrella, as well as 238 companies in which we are the majority shareholder.

Core Mid-Market: Companies typically report between \(\$50\) million and \(\$100\) million in annual revenue.

Upper Mid-Market: Organizations usually range from \(\$100\) million to \(\$1\) billion in revenue before transitioning into enterprise/large-cap classifications.

Upper Mid- Market organizations typically fall into tech, manufacturing or private healthcare. HCPH which converted to Partners HealthCare currently employs over 90,000 individuals, HCPH merged in 1994 through several acquisitions and is an example of a small to Medium to large operation.
